Explore your creative side with this collage techniques class. Learn how to combine images, text and a variety of papers on a wood surface to make a great collage. Learn simple photo transfer techniques as well as processes to create interesting textures and patterns in the background using paint and gel mediums.The class is structured with many demonstrations and then time for students to let their creativity run free. Perfect for people who think they have no artistic talent, but also great for accomplished artists to explore their creative side. Fun idea for a girls night out or a great class to create something for your Valentine. All materials and tools will be provided, but feel free to bring clip art, stickers, images cut from catalogs, newspapers, Xeroxes of your own photos, fancy papers, ticket stubs, etc. (email the artist a personal photo if you'd like to work with your own imagery). Bring your own art supplies or rubber stamps if you like. Come ready to enjoy the creative atmosphere, learn simple techniques and embellishments, meet some new friends and make some art for a gift or to decorate your house. Students will create one collage on wood at the end of the class. Maximum Class Size: 12 students.
Caitlin Dundon is a painter and calligrapher with a BFA in graphic design from Syracuse University. She has over 15 years of professional experience in painting and calligraphy with her company One Heart Studio. She has been published in Seattle, Seattle Bride, Seattle Business Monthly and Manhattan Bride magazines as well as the international publication, Letter Arts.
