I’ve been making jewelry in some form or other for 20 years, but my favorite tools are fire and a hammer. Loud and hot, that’s me! I mainly work in fine silver (.999% pure – no alloys, which means little-to-no tarnishing), sterling silver and copper, fusing, soldering, forging and planishing each piece to bring out its perfect shape and texture.

I'm a mixed media artist and all around magpie -- drawn to anything that sparkles, shines, shimmers, glimmers, intrigues or evokes.

It seems that no matter what I make, the media I always come back to are seed beads and leather. Both offer an incredible range of color, texture and possibility.

I’m happiest when I’m creating! Color, form and structure are fascinating things to play with, no matter the medium. Art jewelry seems to be my main form of creative expression for many years now, but I’ve always worked in many mediums. Paintings and inks were my passion for many years and my work graces the walls in many beautiful homes. My yard is an ongoing delight - really, it could be in Better Homes and Gardens!  There is a tree that outgrew its setting, but the trunk, which is still standing will be a wonderful chainsaw carving!

I like to think of myself as an artist, but find it impossible to do that full-time. I started making crafts as gifts for Christmas one year and then decided it was a great way to use my creative energy while I was between paintings. I try to use as many recycled materials as possible since I hate putting things in the trash. I never follow directions, so all of my items are designed by me without a pattern - this inevitably frustrates the ladies at the craft shows asking me how I made something.
