You don't just paint what you see- you paint what you feel. Painting with your soul is fundamental to Sumi painting. In this workshop, you will be introduced to the philosophy and theory of Sumi painting and calligraphy. Students will complete their Sumi painting in the workshop. Registration is now open for Artist Mary Shea's 6 week drawing class "Drawing into Painting". Participants will use pencil, charcoal and ink to build skills in responsive drawings and explore color with tinted paper, colored pencils, and water based media. This workshop is open to adults Beginning level skills to Advanced. Limited class size- early registration suggested. $150 for 6 week course. 5-7pm Mondays September 27th through November 1st. EtsyRAIN will host a Pre-Holiday Art & Craft Show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, October 16-17th.

The EtsyRAIN Art & Craft Show will be held in the lobby and the fountain courtyard at the beautiful Intiman Theatre, located at 201 Mercer Street in Seattle.

The first 50 people in line each day will receive a swag bag filled with awesome stuff from our EtsyRAIN members.

We are so excited to be hosting Ron Ranson, Internationally recognized Author, Painter & Educator for a FREE demonstration at Daniel Smith Artists' Materials Seattle store on Thursday August 26th from 3-5pm. His workshops are currently sold out but his demonstration will fill on a first-come-first-serve basis. His demonstration will be on the topic of Expression & Simplicity using watercolors. Join us!
