Packed with fun and opportunities for creative expression through arts, crafts, games, and personal reflection, retreat participants can expect an experience that mimics a summer camp for younger kids. While we cater to adults, activities include both high-energy games and relaxing, fun individual projects. Experiment with an art medium you've never tried--like painting, sculpture, drawing, textiles--or stick with one you've always enjoyed. Activities throughout the weekend are set up at group stations and you rotate through them at your leisure.

Mardi Gras Masks

"Mardi Gras Masks" with Gail Baker
Date:
Feb 5 2011 - 1:00pm

Saturday, February 5, 1 – 7pm

Is it art? Of course! It’s wearable art. How many times have you wished you could create a fantastic, wild mask for Mardi Gras or grocery shopping? We’ll use fast-drying plaster gauze over cardboard and/or paper mache form. Then, we’ll add raffia, ribbon, paint, beads, and any other embellishment you bring. Play. Release that repressed imagination. Zydeco music provided. Dance instruction not included. Bring a lunch.

Class Fee: $90 (includes all materials)
Instructor: Gail Baker
